We answer within two business days. It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you tapped just before it went wrong.
Common questions
How do I pair with my partner?
One of you taps to invite a partner — during onboarding, or later from the Me tab or the banner on Connect. You'll get an 8-character code. Read it out to your partner, who enters it on their phone. The code expires 15 minutes after it is issued; if it lapses, just generate a new one.
Can I use Jino on my own?
Yes. The pairing screen has a Skip button. On your own you still get daily check-ins, moods, goals, prompts, reflections, bookmarks and settings — you can pair later at any time from the Me tab, and nothing you've written is lost when you do.
I can't sign in with my email
Use Sign in with Apple. During the beta, email sign-in codes are rate-limited by our email provider and often don't arrive. Sign in with Apple works reliably, creates your account automatically, and lets you hide your real address. We're fixing email sign-in before general release.
Sign-in fails with "Unacceptable audience"
That's a configuration error on our side, not yours. Email us the time it happened and we'll fix it — you're not doing anything wrong, and retrying won't help until we do.
I'm not getting notifications
Check three things in order. First, iOS Settings → Notifications → Jino, and confirm Allow Notifications is on. Second, in Jino, open the Me tab and check your notification preferences and quiet hours — a notification sent inside your quiet hours is held deliberately. Third, confirm you're actually paired; there's nobody to notify you otherwise. If all three are fine, email us.
A voice note won't record or play
Recording needs microphone access: iOS Settings → Jino → Microphone. Playback needs a connection, because audio is fetched through a short-lived private link rather than stored in the open — if you're offline it will fail, and it will work again when you reconnect. If your phone is on silent, check the volume and the ring/silent switch.
Something I sent didn't reach my partner
Jino queues what you write when you're offline and sends it when you're back. Open the app with a connection and give it a few seconds. If it still hasn't arrived after that, email us — include roughly when you sent it and what kind of thing it was.
Am I being charged? What is Jino Plus?
No. Jino is free during the beta, and every Plus feature is unlocked for everyone. The app never asks for payment details, and there is no purchase to make. When paid subscriptions arrive we'll say so clearly in the app first — see the Terms for how billing will work.
How do I unpair?
Me tab → unpair. Unpairing stops any new sharing between the two of you. It does not retract what has already been sent — your partner keeps what they already received.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
In the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your account, your check-ins, your messages and your voice notes from our servers, and signs you out. It cannot be undone. Content your partner separately wrote stays theirs.
My partner deleted their account — what happens to me?
Your pairing ends and Jino returns to single-person mode next time it syncs. Everything you wrote is still yours and still there. You can pair with someone else, or with them again if they come back, from the Me tab.
Which devices does Jino run on?
iPhone only, for now. There is no iPad, Android or web version yet.
I want to report a bug or ask for a feature
Please do — during a beta that's the most useful thing you can send us. Email carolyn-tung@bmore-designful.com. If you're on TestFlight, you can also take a screenshot and share it straight from the TestFlight prompt, which attaches the logs for us automatically.
Privacy and your data
Your notes, moods and voice notes are visible to you and your paired partner, and to nobody else. The full detail — what's collected, who processes it, and how to get it deleted — is in the Privacy Policy.
